Chandauli is a town and a nagar panchayat in Chandauli district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is the administrative headquarters of Chandauli District. Chandauli became a separate district for the first time on 20 May 1997. However, after coming into power, Mulayam Singh Yadav dissolved it on January, 2004 and ensured its merger again in Varanasi.
