​Sri Sri Matri Mandir, Joyrambati is a branch of Ramakrishna Math, Belur Math. Matri Mandir- Joyrambati, the excellent and well-designed temple is located in the holy place of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi's birth. It bears a serene and dignified expression—the sense of Mother-Heart that was embodied as Sarada Devi, the Holy Mother. This temple was dedicated to the Holy Mother by Swami Saradananda on the eve of Akshaya-Trtiya, thursday 19th April 1923. The Mother is daily worshipped with appropriate rites and offerings.

Sri Sarada Devi (1853-1920) is dearly called “Holy Mother” by millions of people throughout the Globe. The Holy Mother, Sri Sarada Devi is the divine embodiment of Shakti and personification of the Universal Mother. The Holy Mother is the Mother of all and the ideal of womanhood for this age. Although she was divinity herself, the Holy Mother’s own spiritual practices were intense and rigorous. Sri Sarada Devi was Sri Ramakrishna’s divine consort, spiritual counterpart and spiritual giant in her own right. Holy Mother dwelt an easy, modest, and inordinately humble life.

Nowadays, devotees of Divine Mother and spiritual aspirants from different parts of the world come to Joyrambati with immense faith, love and devotion. As a result, the quantitative increase in the number of visitors as also the activities have been simply overwhelming. Her sympathy extended to all who came to her and she said: “I cannot refuse anyone who came to me”.

A vivid expansion plan “Matri Mandir Expansion and Development Project” is coming up to compensate the demand of increased visit of Daily Visitors, Devotees, Religious inquirers and Admirers. The details of which available in the 'Expansion Project' of this App. This Venture would be one of the largest Hindu Mandir expansion plans (in size, volume, quantity and scope) in India. This Endeavour indicates the preparedness and protection for the future rush of devotees and tourists from round the Globe to the bliss of Divine Mother. This development requires a vast plot of land not lesser than 75 acres. The present Sri Sri Matri Mandir, Joyrambati is composed of 12 acres land complex separated in two different sectors. An additional 17 acres of new land has already been purchased.

For this project to materialize, an additional 46 acres of land is to be purchased urgently and an overall estimated cost (land + construction) of ₹220 Crores (INR Two Hundred Twenty Crores) ≡ $34 Million (USD Thirty-Four Million) approx. is a requisite and, of course, our good will and kind support.

It is fervently entreated to all the believers and devotees of Sri Ramakrishna - Holy Mother and Swami Vivekananda, to adorers of the movement, as also to generous foundations and institutions to contribute freely for the remarkable cause in the name of the Holy Mother through the vast 'Expansion and Development of Holy Mother's Birth place'. The Holy Mother may shower her choicest blessing on all of us.
