The Amritsar Branch of NIRC of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India was established on 9th January, 1979. A body constituted as its branch by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, which is established by an Act of Parliament (XXXVIII of 1949) to regulate the profession of Chartered Accountancy.

The functions of the Branch inter-alia include holding of talks, refresher courses, workshops, seminars and conferences on topics of professional interest with a view to help the members keep themselves abreast of the development in the fast changing scenario.

At present more than 500 members and about 1500 students are registered with our branch in Amritsar & its surrounding areas including the district of Tarn Taran & Gurdaspur.
