Surya means the Sun. Surya is one of the nine heavenly houses (Navagraha) in the zodiac system of Hindu astrology. Surya or Ravi is the basis of Sunday, as per Hindu calendar. Surya Namaskar is associates with quality of truth, peace, divine love and blissfulness. It encouraged devotees to pray, chant God's name, read holy scriptures and do Meditation.
