WHAT IS AskLah?

AskLah is a question-and-answer app where real-time location-based questions can be answered by other users.

Your questions will be answered by a real human being, not by a computer!

AskLah allows anyone to connect and share information with others without having to know them.

AskLah also lets you help decide on the best answers through Likes.

Questions and answers limited to 160 characters to minimize long-winded stories or unrelated tangents.

Learn things about your neighborhood, or help others with information.

REAL-TIME ANSWERS

With AskLah, you get the latest information on current events or situations.

These are answers you may not be able to get through Googling, because only the person at the scene has the REAL-TIME answer right there and then.

AskLah will only keep questions and answers for a short period, after which they will be deleted. This way, we make sure that information is up-to-date.

NO FOLLOWING OR FOLLOWERS

With AskLah, there is no need to follow anybody or to have followers.

No registration is required for browsing the questions and answers.

AskLah only requires users to register if they wish to post questions or answers.

Posting of questions and answers will be done through user-chosen nicks.

Also, the 160-character limit isn’t geared for chats, discussions, or long lists.

You earn points when you answer questions and when people Like your questions or answers.

You start as a Shining Star and move up the color ranks as you play a more active role helping others by answering questions.

The colors and their ranks are:

Green – Shining Star

Orange – Rising Star

Cyan – Shooting Star

Blue – Super Star

Purple – Mega Star


Red – Super Nova

GUIDELINES FOR USING AskLah

We’re all here to help one another.

Be welcoming and patient.

Rudeness and belittling language are not allowed.

Also do not use signatures, taglines, or greetings as these add to bandwidth usage without adding value.

INAPPROPRIATE POSTS

The following are examples of inappropriate behavior and users can report them by clicking on the Flag button:

Name-calling - e.g., calling someone lazy, stupid, etc.

Bigotry - language likely to offend others based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc.

Inappropriate language – don’t use vulgar words or anything sexually suggestive.

Harassment and bullying - if you see a hostile interaction, report it immediately.

Spam and overt self-promotion – this is not the place to try to get free advertisements for your products or services.

The Administrators reserve the right to delete questions or answers that are found to be inappropriate.
