MyJawi is an educational application for Sekolah Rendah Agama (SRA) students

MyJawi is an educational application in Android platform that has been developed for Sekolah Rendah Agama (SRA) students especially for standard 1 to 3. This application provides an Augmented Reality (AR) mode which is the main attraction of the application where student or user must use their phone camera to scan flash cards provided to show a 3D object and at the same time learn how to spell a word using the Jawi alphabets. The purpose of the application is to help the students easy to learn and spell using Jawi letters in an attractive ways. The Agile methodology is used in the development of this application. The application will make sure student may combine, spell and read Jawi in an interactive and interesting way other than books. Therefore, this application may attract student to use Jawi frequently in the right way. Student nowadays, frequently uses phones more than books, so this application is developed for the teachers to use it in normal class at school to make it a new way of teaching. The AR functionalities will display a 3D object of the letter such as Alif, Ba and Ta and also a combining letter for spelling such “Meja” which is using Mim, Ya, Jim and Alif to make a 3D object of table to appear. Furthermore, MyJawi also provides quizzes and exercises for the students. Then, a notes also be provided in the application for the student to take a look for such as the right way to combine the Jawi letter. In conclusion, MyJawi is a new way of teaching and studying beyond the student and teacher on today 21st century way of learning.
