Locals have insider information- local restaurants, bars, beaches etc. They know safer areas and what places to avoid. They understand the ins and outs of public transportation. They are immersed in the culture, customs, laws and norms as it is part of their everyday life. Having this person in your back pocket wherever you go makes traveling way easier.

Finding a local support person is easy with this app. Enter the city, dates, and service you want based on your comfort level- emergency contact only, daily messaging or video consulting. You may also add an in-person meeting if you want to enhance your experience by meeting face to face with your support person. Choose the local from the list that you vibe with best to be YOUR local.

Having an emergency contact allows you to call someone who lives in the area for travel emergencies and support when things don’t go according to plan. Q&A daily messaging allows you to ask questions and receive advice and recommendations via chat. Video calling provides clearer communication for questions and concerns plus makes translating easier. Adding In Person is an exciting experience on its own but it also allows you to ask all the questions and concerns at the start of your trip. In Person is better for an itinerary review or explanation of local customs and culture. If there is a part of your trip that gives you anxiety, you can choose a date and time for your local to assist you with that part of the trip. As an example, a metropolitan subway system can be dauting to someone who hasn’t used this type of public transportation before.
