Life cycle assessment (LCA) is a technique to assess environmental impacts associated with all stages of a product's life.

Our aim is to develop an awareness raising tool about LCA in everyday products for use by education providers and the general public. Through adapting some of the techniques from the supply chain environmental analysis tool SCEnATi we hope to disseminate LCA knowledge to a wider audience in a fun way.

This game is the first stage in the development of our awareness raising tool and we will use the evaluation data from this to further develop and design the end product.

The scientific data used in this game has been taken from existing publications and websites; in the final product we will include data from research in the projects DARE & SUbST.

Users are encouraged to scan and collect components to help brew four material brews, all linked to real research projects being undertaken. Targets will be available throughout Sheffield pubs as part of the annual Pint of Science research discussions event.
