The advantage is that only P2P Services needs to run to provide p2p functionality, one per device and not one per app.

Use of permissions

* Network communication: Used for peer discovery using P2P with WiFi-Direct and over the cloud

* Bluetooth: Used for peer discovery using P2P with BLE

* Affects battery (prevent phone from sleeping): Used to make sure that the services can work in the background (used very carefully to minimize battery usage!)

* Your location: Used for peer discovery using geolocation
