P2P Services is designed to optimise the use of resources on your device by consolidating p2p technologies through one service effectively eliminating the need to run multiple instances. The advantage is that only P2P Services needs to run to provide p2p functionality, one per device and not one per app.

Additionally, P2P Services provides developers with a straightforward interface to a complex technology so that they can focus on their app and not on the tech behind.

Use of permissions

* Network communication: Used for peer discovery using P2P with WiFi-Direct and over the cloud

* Bluetooth: Used for peer discovery using P2P with BLE

* Affects battery (prevent phone from sleeping): Used to make sure that the services can work in the background (used very carefully to minimize battery usage!)

* Your location: Used for peer discovery using geolocation
