Salmo 105

Great Psalm

1 Give thanks to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known his deeds among the nations.

2 Sing to him and praise him; report all your wonders.

3 Boast in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.

4 Go to the Lord and to his power; always seek his presence.

5 Remember the wonders he did, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,

6 O descendants of Abraham his servant, O children of Jacob, his chosen ones.

7 He is the Lord our God; his decrees are for the whole earth.

8 He remembers his covenant forever to a thousand generations, the word he commanded,

9 the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.

10 He confirmed it as a decree to Jacob, to Israel as an everlasting covenant, when he said:

11 “I will give you the land of Canaan, your inheritance.”

12 When they were still few, a handful of pilgrims in the land,

13 and they wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another,

14 he did not allow anyone to oppress them, but on their behalf he rebuked kings, saying:

15 “Do not touch my anointed ones; do not mistreat my prophets.”

16 He sent a famine upon the land and destroyed all their livelihood;

17 but he sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, who was sold into slavery.

18 They bound his feet with chains and irons around his neck,

19 until his prediction came true and the word of the Lord confirmed what he said.

20 The king had him released, the ruler of the peoples released him.

21 He made him lord of his palace and steward of all his goods,

22 to instruct his officials as he wished and to teach wisdom to the king's officials.

23 So Israel went to Egypt, Jacob lived as a foreigner in the land of Ham.

24 God multiplied his people, made them mightier than their enemies

25 and changed their hearts to hate his people, to plot against his servants.

26 Then Moses sent his servant, and Aaron, whom he had chosen,

27 through whom he performed his miraculous signs and his wonders in the land of Ham.

28 He sent darkness, and there was darkness, and they did not rebel against his words.

29 He turned their waters to blood, causing their fish to die.

30 Their land became infested with frogs, even the royal chambers.

31 He ordered, and swarms of flies and lice invaded their territory.

32 He gave them hail instead of rain, and flaming lightning throughout their land;

33 razed their vines and fig trees and destroyed the trees in their territory.

34 He commanded, and swarms of locusts came, locusts without number,

35 and devoured all the vegetation of the land, and consumed all that the tillage produced.

36 Then he killed all the firstborn of their land, all the firstfruits of their maleness.

37 He brought Israel out of there, and they came out full of silver and gold. There were none in their tribes who faltered.

38 The Egyptians were glad when they left, for they were terrified of the Israelites.

39 He spread out a cloud to give them shade, and fire to light the night.

40 They asked, and he sent quails and satisfied them with bread from heaven.

41 He split the rock, and water gushed out, flowing like a river through the desert.

42 For he remembered the holy promise he had made to his servant Abraham.

43 He made his people go out with joy, and his chosen ones with joyful songs.

44 He gave them the lands of the nations, and they took possession of the labors of other peoples,

45 that they might obey his decrees and keep his laws. Hallelujah!
