I’d like to take a moment to recognize the outstanding efforts of the first person ever to bake a pie. Whoever you may be, I owe you a debt of gratitude. Not only I, but Americans everywhere, thank you. Where would we be today, if we couldn’t use the expressions, “American as apple pie”, “easy as pie”, or “Let’s sit down and have some pie.” We’d be pie-less, that’s where we’d be.

Speak for yourself, but I don’t want to live in a place that doesn’t have pie. Fruit pie, cream pie, tart, cheesecake, streusel. Bring it on!

A place that does have pie is my house at Thanksgiving. I’m going through my recipes this week, deciding what kinds of pie we are going to be noshing on at the end of our feast.
