WHAT IS WATER WIZ?

Water Wiz is a simple app which will help you and your family better understand where water is being used in your household. Water Wiz will help you track your water use at the shower, laundry machine, garden, etc. - no smart water meter required.

Water Wiz provides daily average values and projected monthly use, in gallons, as well as CCF (unit of measurement used by water companies) and estimated GPCD (Gallons per capita daily). It cannot be used to audit your water bill; however if used daily by all household members, added through the "Settings" menu, it will help display a clear picture of how much water is being used, and for what purpose. (Internet access is required when used by households of two or more members)

WHY USE WATER WIZ?

For families in drought stricken areas and otherwise, Water Wiz will help track water usage. It will ultimately show you where to begin when curbing your family's usage of Earth's precious water.

If you happen to reside in areas with mandatory water use cuts in effect, like California for example, the estimated GPCD calculations will help you asses how close to the mandated water use your household is.

Water Wiz is also perfect for students in Environmental Science classes who've been assigned a Water Use Project.

WHAT CAN WATER WIZ DO, SPECIFICALLY?

There are time-based counters, which record seconds of use, and use-based counters, which record the number of uses. (e.g. how many times a toilet is flushed).

Time-based counters:

- sink faucets;

- shower;

- garden sprinklers;

- garden house;

Use-based counters:

- laundry;

- toilet ball;

- bath tub;

- dishwasher;

- garden sprinklers;

- pool

As you use water in the household simply select the appropriate counter, adjust the water flow and start the timer while the water is running.

As the timer records the time, it will also record the number of gallons used according to the chosen water flow. This data will be added to a table and create bar graphs to help analyze daily use.

HOW TO CONFIGURE A HOUSEHOLD?

For households with two or more members, for each member go to "Settings" and configure different User Name, attached to the same Household Name and Household Password. The data collected from different household members will then be linked to one household account. By taping "Reports," and then "Household," you will be able to see everybody's data in one page, alongside average values and monthly projections.
