Water is one of the most essential elements in our life. India has only 4% of the world’s freshwater resources despite a population of over 1.3 billion people i.e., around 17% of world’s population.

Current Water Distribution System in any district is very complex in nature and requires a lot of transparency and proper management. Water is mostly supplied to the citizens by the various Water Distribution Bodies in Rural and Urban areas.

Currently the area wise water distribution is maintained completely by the offline system using Registers and hence the monitoring is very hectic. Also, there’s no handy Grievance Registering and Redressal facility that can benefit the citizens directly in case of water crisis/shortages.

This application, JAL-DRISHTI (Water Supply Reporting & Grievance Redressal System), aims to increase the transparency of the Water Distribution system by reporting various parameters from ground level to the Authorities and helps in Redressal of water supply grievances reported by the citizens within a quick timeline.

JAL-DRISHTI uses the current geolocation of the citizen facing the water issues along with the camera image if any, while they register the grievance through this Mobile Application. The fetched geolocation of the address helps the Authorities to accurately identify the location of the places facing the Water Supply issue. This mobile Application also lets the Citizen to track the status of their Registered Grievances in a Beautiful Timeline format including the Action and Remarks added.

JAL-DRISHTI also offers a Feedback Module that allows the citizens to rate the Services they received for the Closed Grievances. The Feedback is monitored by the Authorities and District Administration to further enhance the Water Supply System.

There is an Announcement Section in the Dashboard of JAL-DRISHTI application for Citizens, where the important announcements by the Water Supply Bodies are displayed, helping the Citizens to prepare themselves prior to any interruption in Water Supply.

JAL-DRISHTI also helps the Ground Staffs of Water Supply Bodies to log various parameters from Water Distribution Towers. These parameters help in various useful analysis and can replace the existing Offline Log Maintenance in Registers.
