Profile Moods

Profile of Mood States Sportsmen.

It is a useful and self-administered tool for sports psychologists and athletes that allows an interactive, simple and practical information about the moods of athletes. These data may be obtained through the Test profile moods POMS, which consist of a series of 15 adjectives that describe the emotions felt by athletes. These adjectives are distributed over five scales to be individually classified through a series of 5 answer choices.

Moments of application:

- Before a competition

- Following a competition

- During the training period

- Following a sports injury

Test uses

* Athletic performance related to mood.

* Zest States back to a sports injury.

* Detect sobreentramiento.

* Mood related to fatigue and exhaustion.

* More effective in testing purpose; predictor of failure or success in sports competition.

Factors that measures:

- Vigor, Tension, Depression, Anger and Fatigue.

Observation.

* It is important to note that while the test profile moods POMS is mostly used in the sports field, it is aimed at the general population and is not exclusive use for sports.
